Our passion is for locally sourced produce, wherever possible. Where this isn’t possible, we do ensure it is ethically sourced. We also use as much organic or free range ingredients as we can.
Fruit and vegetables are delivered to us from a local organic farm. We also grow our own herbs and vegetables as much as possible, in the limited space we have available.
All meat and eggs used by us are free range. Chickens come from the Brewsters at Jamesfield organic farm and eggs are from our own ‘Ex Bats’. Highland Beef is supplied by Brig Farm at Bridge of Earn. Local food hero Ian Spink provides our Arbroath Smokies for breakfast. Ramseys of Carluke, also a local food hero, supplies us with our Ayrshire bacon and Cumberland sausages, and Jim Fairlie supplies the lamb we use.

More and more people are becoming aware of green issues and most people are looking to reduce the impact of their day to day lives on the planet. Here at Burnbank B&B, we try to implement simple, practical ideas to reduce our carbon footprint and help the environment, without compromising on comfort or quality.
For example, we harvest rainwater to water our indoor plants, garden and greenhouse; we have installed additional insulation so that the property requires less heating; and the en-suites all have water saving devices installed. All the shower and soap products provided to guests, as well as all of our cleaning materials, are ‘eco-friendly’.
We were delighted to be invited to become a
Cittaslow supporter this year. Cittaslow is a
network of over 100 towns in 15 countries across
the world that have adopted the same set of goals
and principles to improve their quality of life.
These values include protecting the environment, buying local products, eating healthy, locally produced food, taking an active role in the community, supporting the cultural heritage of the area, and taking the time to welcome visitors to the area.
